About You:

SmartAsset is seeking a Sales Development Trainer that can implement a learning and development training program for our growing SmartAdvisor sales team. The Sales Trainer will reinforce best sales practices through creative learning techniques and increasing product knowledge. The Sales Trainer will be responsible for training, teaching, and implementing sales techniques to improve the team’s skillset. You will be responsible for providing a positive and engaging learning experience to reinforce SmartAsset’s sales training.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a continuing education program designed to enhance the skill set of our growing sales team
  • Responsible for building decks and creating a training curriculum
  • Work cross functionally with other teams to develop training programs for other departments
  • Partner with our Product team to design a product certification program designed to ensure the Sales team are proficient in product offering and client facing value proposition
  • Lead new hire on-boarding and product/process certifications
  • Point of contact for all new hire on-boarding and certifying new hire on-boarding aka testing our phone scripts, industry product knowledge, and CRM
  • Determine and identify training needs and areas of improvement
  • Provide training feedback to employees and leadership
  • Report and work closely with the SVP of Sales to ensure the sale’s team is optimizing their performance
  • Ability to train different teams outside of sales on performance, leadership, and optimizing performance
  • Serve as a Q&A Specialist

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years in creating and implementing Sales training curriculum
  • Experience in coaching, employee development, and optimizing team performance
  • 3 plus years in a quota-carrying sales role with a proven track record of exceeding high volume sales performance
  • Strong leadership, relationship building and communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and open learning environment
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, problem solving, and presentation skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce
  • Bachelor’s degree required
