The Technical Services Team:

Our Technical Services team is built up of a team of talented technical individuals with exceptional customer centric skillsets. Supporting both internal and external stakeholders, this team at the forefront of ensuring our customer's success with our products and solutions. 

The Opportunity:

JW Player recently entered the Indian market and we have seen tremendous growth and as a result, we are looking to bring on an additional Sales Engineer help us continue to scale! Our creative technical Sales Engineers are strong communicators who provide technical guidance and solution designs to prospects, customers and clients in the region. Our Sales Engineers act as an essential link between our Sales, Account Management and Product teams, demonstrating the technology value of JW Player's products. 

As a Sales Engineer, you will:

  • Represent JW Player in every technical interaction in the field, both in pre-sales opportunities as well as in the development of existing client relations
  • Attain quarterly and annual objectives with your regional account team
  • Act as the customer’s main technical point of contact and lead the sale to a technical close
  • Confidently present and articulate the business value of our solutions and products to managers and executives of all levels.
  • Confidently own the room when there is a need for technical guidance, to provide structure and action items when a project requires it
  • Work hand-in-hand with the regional pod in India and the larger team in APAC, to align on goals, initiatives and market expansion. 
  • Understand the competitive landscape in video technology, and position JW Player product value in that ecosystem
  • Manage and execute client-facing information gathering and demos of JW Player's products and deliver technical pre-sales presentations focused on the needs of prospective publishers
  • Support the RFI/RFP process by providing thorough responses to technical requirements
  • Gather feedback in terms of trends in the market, and surface that to the product teams
  • Constantly improve, increase value and be an essential part of the JW Player Sales Team
  • Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives

Requirements for the role:

  • 3+ years experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect or related Advertising/Video product experience
  • Strong presentation skills including experience presenting technical details to a wide-ranging audience
  • Superior writing skills for responding to RFI/RFPs and for business communications with customers
  • Demonstrated experience in problem identification and resolution with hands-on approach to solving tactical and strategic problems of a technical nature
  • Experience interfacing with Product, Product Marketing & Marketing to maximize message, sales and client acquisition
  • Successfully handle the ever-changing landscape of sales and product
  • Solutions focused attitude and delight in interacting with clients
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and pay attention to details
  • Strong skill set in front end development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
  • Understanding of the Video Ad Tech ecosystem, including Programmatic Advertising and Video Header Bidding
  • Experience in the Video Delivery and OTT space
  • Proficient in English both written and verbal

Bonus Points:

  • Technical sales or support in SaaS organizations, preferably Video or Ads Tech
  • Experience with backend development (PHP, Python, NodeJS, GO)
  • Experience with Value Selling Methods
  • Experience with DRM and/or Video Live Streaming
