The Role

We are looking for our first Sales Operations hire. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Office, the Sr. Director of Sales Operations will partner with sales leadership to deliver current and future sales strategies that will ensure the operational needs of the sales organization are met. You can think "big picture" to actively identify strategic direction but are also willing to roll up your sleeves to build analytical frameworks and solutions that directly support sales growth and Salesforce.com efficiency. You have excellent attention to detail and enjoy working closely with sales teams to tackle their most pressing issues.

• Partner with the CRO to ensure a high performing sales team by implementing objectives that appropriately reflect Cockroach Labs’ business goals.
• Design, implement and manage the sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes, which includes implementing and the ongoing management and daily administration of Salesforce.com.
• Design new sales coverage models, compensation plans, and incentive structures and operationalize them while balancing growth and ROI.
• Refine the sales management processes, including key performance indicators and dashboards, pipeline management, and account and territory planning, including documentation, how-to guides, CRM requirements, training & rollout.
• Drive quarterly and annual operational and strategic sales reviews.
• Partner with senior sales leadership to identify opportunities for sales process and methodology improvement.
• Ensures sales reports and other internal intelligence is provided to the sales organization.
• Key liaison role with Finance leadership to ensure alignment as well as data integrity.
• Build slides decks for financial reporting, board meetings and estaff
• Help implement salesforce

The Expectations

In your first 30 days, you will assess where we are with our sales operations and where we need to be. You will work alongside our CRO to ensure we are building a strong foundation for our day-to-day sales processes. We believe that it's essential for you to take this first month to become familiar with our technology and our company.

After 3 months, you'll be fully integrated into the team. You will have gotten Salesforce.com set-up and some key sales processes. You will be working on maintaining and enhancing key tools, dashboards, and reports used by management to analyze and optimize our sales processes, board reporting, and facilitating deal-desk operations. Also, you will be handling day-to-day sales operations functions, including analyzing pipeline, managing channel partner referrals, tracking sales opportunities, validating orders, calculating sales compensation, and administering our Salesforce.com instance.

• 6+ years experience in a sales operations role, preferably with experience in a SaaS business.
• College degree from an accredited institution; MBA or equivalent preferred.
• Comfortable working for a fast‐paced organization. Prior experience in a growing technology company, preferred.
