Job Description

SimpliField is looking for a Solution Engineer to support and empower customers, both pre- and post-sales, through education, support, code, and documentation. 

The Solution Engineer is part of the Sales team and supports sales propositions based on client requests, proactive sales campaigns, RFIs/RFPs and general sales engagement. This position will report to the Global VP of Sales.

The Solution Engineer serves as the technical and solution expert to assist in mapping our customer's needs to our application (web/mobile) across the retail industry.

He/She has a pivotal role in the organization, provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying our solution to prospective client business. Develop and deliver high quality presentations and product demonstrations. Present and articulate product features and benefits as well as product future direction.

The Solution Engineer acts as a true Sales partner, leading technical discussions on sales calls and meetings with customers.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Partner with Sales team to work closely with new and existing customers to drive detailed discovery utilizing the Simplifield suite of software to solve business challenges

  • Provide pre-sales support including drafting presentations, defining scope of works, writing technical responses to prospects and customers implementations and proposals as part of the normal sales cycle but also including RFP/RFI’s

  • Qualify, develop, and help close opportunities leveraging cross organizational team members within Product, CSM and Sales teams

  • Engage with the customer to plan, design and execute Proof of Concepts, deployment approaches and solution implementations that drive user adoption, including Professional Services budgetary estimates

  • Research competition to develop an understanding of the current & future market, product and competitor landscape, and applicability of the technology to business use case scenarios Deliver presentations and product demonstrations to customers and at other field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.

  • Contribute with the sales team to maintain accurate and timely customer/prospect, pipeline, and service forecast data in Salesforce.com

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including an ability to think ‘on your feet’ when faced with challenging questions in the sales environment

  • Strong experience managing the proposal process including responding to RFP’s Ability to explain and resolve common technical aspects of SaaS software, including security and experience working with mobile /web applications including SQL, SDKs, JavaScript, and/or REST APIs

  • Business analysis and implementation skills with SaaS products such as salesforce.com 

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong customer facing and relationship building skills

  • Knowledge of vendors, products, and services in the Retail Execution application space. 

  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to multi-task

  • Team player to complete the triumvirate of business development, sales and solution delivery 

Qualifications:

  • You have an engineer background with a business oriented mindset. Alternatively, you could have a successful experience in a consulting firm

  • You have 3-5 years of a successful experience in a similar role within a demanding environment (IT services, consulting, technology company, start-up...)

  • Experience in the Retail industry or consulting to the Retail industry is a strong +

+Able to Travel as needed (up to 20% at peaks) mostly within the US (once travel will be authorized)
