The Job

Narrativ is looking to hire a software engineer whose work will drive Narrativ’s continued growth acceleration. Engineers in this role work closely with some of the largest publishing and retail organizations on the globe, integrating Narrativ’s technology into their products/workflow. This work directly generates the data that powers our auction system, tallies revenue-generating events, and transforms them into meaningful reports. The output of this team is seen across the web including high-profile household names.

Narrativ provides a variety of products to suit the wide range of publishers and merchants we work with. In this role, you will work to customize and implement these products. The day-to-day responsibilities would include developing customer integrations, developing/refining automated reporting, pulling custom data from a variety of databases, and building relationships with our partners. Our engineering team is hard-working, collaborative, and committed to code quality. We believe that engineers are important thought partners and responsible for shaping, and not just executing, product priorities. We believe that we can build a better platform together.

Engineers on this team become familiar with all parts of Narrativ’s technology portfolio. If you’re up for a challenge and are looking to advance, solidify, and contextualize your knowledge of frontend/backend/data engineering/analytics, this is a great role.

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Write Python, Javascript, and SQL code to support our customer integrations
• Write extensive unit, integration, and system level automated testing
• Communicate with clients clearly and professionally to elicit requirements, provide updates, and troubleshoot
• Continually work to improve team capabilities with training, documentation, code reviews, pair programming, and collaboration

Requirements

• Comfortable coding in Python or Javascript
• Ability to work independently on new and different tasks
• Motivation to achieve results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Exceptional level of organization and strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Continually work to improve team capabilities with training, documentation, code reviews, pair programming, and collaboration
• Participate in the engineering planning process
