The SVP, Client Partnerships is a dedicated sales leader focused on business within the U.S., responsible for managing BuzzFeed’s sales footprint and top domestic clients and agency relationships. You will be based in our LA (preferred) or NYC HQ and report to our CRO.

You Will:

  • Lead U.S. team of sales leaders, sellers, and account managers (approximately 100 employees) tasked with empowering the largest marketers and agencies to connect and engage with the people who matter to them most
  • Meet assigned targets for net sales, market share, contribution margin and other strategic performance objectives
  • Grow C-level and SVP-level relationships with clients and agency leaders with a focus on driving investment, insight and innovation
  • Establish an external presence as a vocal and visible face of BuzzFeed at industry events, conferences and be a member of industry boards
  • Partner with Marketing to evolve our compelling GTM narrative and client experiences
  • Lead budget forecasting, goal-setting for domestic markets, management of OKRs on a quarterly basis and account plans for clients through partnership with Operations
  • Partner with Product team to innovate our offerings to meet market demand
  • Work with Research & Insights to prove effectiveness of BuzzFeed solutions and identify measurement solutions based on client needs
  • Be a liaison on behalf of the Sales organization to establish and maintain internal relationships with decision-makers across BuzzFeed
  • Work with Content team to develop a understanding of development and distribution to scale custom solutions and push innovation

Direct Reports: 

  • Executive Assistant to SVP
  • 8 VPs (Leaders of Auto, Tech/Telco, Retail/QSR & Finance, Entertainment, CPG East, CPG Central, Travel/Services, Programmatic & Agency Partnerships)

You Have:

  • 15+ years of combined experience in sales management, marketing, digital, strategy development, and/or consultancy and experience leading a team and managing the work of others 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of the advertising/media landscape with an emphasis on being a programmatic, ad tech and digital platform expert
  • Fanatic for quality and delivering top-notch results; ability to contribute both strategically and tactically
  • Management and leadership skills with experience motivating, leading, and building teams
  • Results-based, action-oriented problem solver; comfortable in a highly dynamic business environment where quick decision making is crucial
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish a partnerships across many constituencies and influencers
  • Ability to think strategically and consider longer term impacts
  • Ability to travel over 50% of time to all markets
