VP, Business Development & Partnerships
The VP, Business Development and Partnerships will be responsible for the development of Smartly's global strategic partnerships with advertising partners (Facebook, Instagram, Snap, Pinterest, Google etc.). Smartly's brand and agency customers use Smartly's media buying, creative and data services across a series of advertising platforms. Our close strategic partnership with these partners has been critical to our success so far and continues to be critical to our success moving forward.
The VP, Business Development and Partnerships will be responsible for the overall strategy and management of Smartly's partnerships with these platforms, driving deeper integrations and greater usage of Smartly products and services. Further, the VP, Business Development and Partnerships will be responsible for sourcing, leading and closing new partnerships. You will set the strategy, build and lead a global team of experts in US, EMEA and APAC to manage these partnerships.
As VP, Business Development and Partnerships at Smartly.io, you will...
- Work directly with our co-founders and leadership-team to continuously develop and refine partnership strategy and its execution
- Build strong relationships on multiple levels at each of the partner companies
- Partner with Smartly Product leadership to effectively advocate for Smartly needs
- Maintain close contact with Smartly Sales and Client Services in order to effectively drive new usage of Smartly services and to understand client needs related to Social platform availability
- Identify partnership gaps (with existing and new partners) and effectively close deals that solve for those gaps
- Continue to outpace the competition, cementing Smartly’s leadership in digital advertising
We're definitely looking for you, if you...
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills and technical competency by seamlessly interfacing with Business Development, Product and Executive-level contacts at the partner companies.
- Think both tactically and strategically, able to help shape and execute the Smartly partnership strategy with advertising platforms be effective navigating a large organization, successfully building relationships across hierarchical levels from executive to field level
- Be a strong presenter, including presenting to large groups and participating on industry panels
- 10 + years of demonstrated excellence in business development or partnership roles
- Deep knowledge of digital advertising ecosystem, with strong preference for experience working at or directly with those partners
- Skilled in establishing trusted relationships, navigating a large partner organization, and driving strategic deals to a close under a tight timeline
- Experience, familiarity and comfort partnering with product teams to jointly drive efforts forward
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (MBA preferred)
