Emigrant Partners Overview:

Emigrant Partners (“EP”) is a long-term capital and advice partner that makes minority investments into wealth and alternative asset management firms. We act as a comprehensive capital partner to leading firms by providing long-duration capital and growth support through our strategic advice. As one of the earliest minority investors in the space, EP’s 21 partner firms include industry leaders that collectively advise on approximately $125 billion of assets. EP’s structure enables it to be invested in firms for 10+ years, allows them to remain independent and empowers founders and the next generation to continue running the day-to-day operations of the firm. EP affords the opportunity to be part of an ambitious, dynamic, tight knit, and entrepreneurial team with a pristine reputation and strong track record. EP is owned by Emigrant Bank, which is led by Howard P. Milstein and the Milstein family.

Job Summary:

EP is looking for a talented Senior Analyst to join the Investments team with responsibility for both working on new direct investments as well as supporting our partner firms on their M&A activity. The candidate will be expected to monitor industry trends, review investment opportunities, participate in transaction diligence, build and maintain financial models, assist in transaction negotiations, and execute new investments. The candidate will also be expected to develop relationships with our existing partner firms and serve as a trusted advisor and partner in their execution of tuck-in acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the evaluation of investment opportunities for both EP and EP’s partner firms
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models including operating models, LBO and investment models, scenario analyses, merger accretion/dilution, exit analyses, and ad hoc projects
  • Assist in key phases of the transaction process, including due diligence and creation of deal materials
  • Review and analyze company historical performance and projections and determine reasonableness of adjustments and valuation assumptions
  • Draft investment memos synthesizing qualitative and financial analyses to support investment decisions
  • Support monitoring of existing partner firms and contribute to project-based value creation initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams across finance, operations, and strategy
  • Conduct ongoing market research and prepare internal materials, including quarterly market updates, deal activity tracking, and portfolio company analyses
  • Maintain internal databases including deal pipeline, market activity tracking, and portfolio metrics
  • Help enhance internal processes, tools, and best practices

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience, with a background in private equity or investment banking
    • Experience advising and/or investing in the wealth & asset management sector is helpful, but not required
    • Experience working on deal processes from end-to-end from the buy-side, sell-side or both
  • Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and research skills
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, problem-solving mindset, and eagerness to learn
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple work streams with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated passion for investing and interest in wealth and alternative asset management
