Job Description

Noodle is a different kind of educational technology company. We want to provide people with transformative experiences when it comes to managing something we do everyday: learning. We cannot do it alone. We cannot do it overnight. And we need a hand.

And so we are looking for a different kind of programmer, particularly someone with a strong background in mathematics and computer science. Your primary task will be to write high-quality code. While you may have dabbled in many different languages, you must have a deep expertise in at least one. If you are fluent in JavaScript, HTML and CSS, we would love to hear from you.

We seek those who are quick to see connections between concepts that others miss. Those who have the ability to filter specious information and apply uncommon sense to some uncommon problems, thereby creating mathematical and algorithmic patterns of great beauty. Skills & Requirements
Educational qualifications

A bachelor's degree or higher from a good university, with an emphasis on designing and programming user interfaces.

General abilities

We seek candidates who display a high level of intelligence and creativity. Candidates who are passionate about writing beautiful code, but who also recognize that perfectionism must be balanced against the realities of strict deadlines. We seek those who are able to communicate clearly and articulately.

Technical skills

Expert knowledge in JavaScript, CSS (Less/SASS) and HTML
A very good understanding of the fundamental data structures and algorithms (in your cover letter, please mention which textbooks you used in your coursework on data structures and algorithms)
Knowledge of SQL is a welcome addition; if you also happen to know some database administration, that is a plus
A good understanding of object oriented programming, and at least a nodding familiarity with functional programming

Other qualifications

We prefer candidates who have implemented at least one complex project before. In your cover letter please describe the most challenging project in which you have been involved, your role in it, what made it so challenging, and how you overcame the technical hurdles.

Requirements for the interview The interviews will be conducted in two stages. The first stage will be a brief screening session in which your interest and engagement will be assessed. In the second stage you will be subjected to a more rigorous technical interview, in which you will be required to write code.
