Are you ready to lead the evolution of a data platform that powers an industry-leading solution for investment management? If so, we invite you to be a part of our innovative team.

As a Database Persistence Technical Product Manager, you will own the strategy, vision, and execution of Ridgeline’s data persistence and database initiatives. Your work will enhance the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of a platform critical to our cloud-native back-to-front-office solution for investment managers. In this role, you’ll use cutting-edge technologies and tools—including AI tools like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot—to create solutions that redefine how investment managers interact with their data.

What will you do?

  • Develop and maintain the vision and roadmap for Ridgeline’s Data Persistence platform, ensuring alignment with broader company goals and industry regulations.
  • Partner with engineering teams to prioritize features and enhancements that optimize the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of our data infrastructure.
  • Oversee the management and optimization of PostgreSQL databases, ensuring effective capacity planning, disaster recovery, regionalization, read replica strategies, and scaling.
  • Collaborate with teams to manage Kafka infrastructure, maintaining robust, low-latency messaging pipelines and real-time data streams.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance observability and reliability by implementing monitoring best practices, improving incident response, and leveraging tools like Datadog.
  • Refine and establish CI/CD workflows, particularly for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), to ensure seamless deployments with minimal downtime.
  • Analyze and optimize database usage patterns, query performance, and infrastructure metrics to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with finance and leadership to ensure budgets and resource allocations align with product and company objectives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders, capturing technical requirements and translating them into actionable backlogs.
  • Effectively communicate updates, timelines, and risks to internal teams and leadership.

Required Experience

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and managing read replicas.
  • Hands-on experience administering PostgreSQL in high-scale environments.
  • Familiarity with Kafka for real-time data streaming and managing clusters.
  • Proficiency with AWS infrastructure and services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and EKS.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Datadog for monitoring and alerting.
  • Expertise in CI/CD workflows and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like GitHub Actions and Terraform.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
  • Successfully scaling PostgreSQL or similar databases to support high availability and large-scale data workloads.
  • Proficient in query optimization and performance tuning for high-throughput systems.
  • Platform product management experience balancing technical constraints, product needs, scalability, and cost objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders and prioritize initiatives to align with company goals.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery strategies, including automated failover, backups, and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR).

Desired Additional Experience

  • Experience with alternative database technologies or advanced query engines.
  • Knowledge of global operations and compliance considerations in data infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI tools for database optimization or pipeline management.
