About

You are the person on the customer team that leads Clarifai's pre and post sales efforts. You report to our Chief Customer Officer and support the sales, business development, and customer experience teams. You love teaching and advising our customers about the complexities of our products and making our technology easy to understand.

You have a passion for AI and enjoy determining how our technology can help tackle customers’ business problems. You ask the right questions to gain an understanding of our customers' engineering requirements, so that we can successfully provide solutions to help them achieve their goals. You bring value to our customers by building relationships and communicating to both technical and non-technical audiences about AI, machine learning, architecture, and security.

Objectives

In your first month, you will jump right in. You will:

  • Build relationships within the customer team and cross-functionally with the product team as well. We value collaboration and people who actively seek out opportunities to learn from those around them.
  • Understand how the customer experience and support teams coordinate with the sales and business development teams to craft proof of concepts and complete large scale customer projects.
  • Learn how to use, explain, and present our technology. We'd like you to work on refining and developing Clarifai's standard product demo once you get comfortable.
  • Join your first few client meetings to understand our prospective customers most frequently asked questions.
  • Learn about our value proposition and the advantages that we have over our competitors. We believe that it is important to be prepared by understanding the competitive landscape.

By the end of your first 3 months, you should be getting into a groove. You will:

  • Participate in customer meetings to share your technical expertise and knowledge of our solutions.
  • Lead and deliver technical product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations for customers, prospects and internal sales personnel.
  • Build and implement scalable and repeatable processes for customer pilots and proof of concepts. We appreciate innovation and creativity that allows us to make our sales process more effective and efficient.

6 months down the road, you will:

  • Understand customers’ technical requirements and articulate how our platform can support their goals.
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to clients throughout the sales process. We look to you to advise our customers and increase their engagement with our products.

In 12 months, you'll:

  • Assess third party platform integration opportunities to drive the distribution of Clarifai's products.
  • Come up with new, creative ways to demonstrate our technology. We value innovation and want to continue iterating and improving our sales processes.

In the future, you'll:

  • Build the team by hiring sales engineers to support your efforts. We want you to be able to increase the impact of the team and have the opportunity to lead by example.

Impact

As Clarifai’s first Senior Sales Engineer, you will support the customer team by providing pre and post sales technical support that will help us close new clients, retain current customers, and increase overall customer satisfaction.
