Who you are:

We’re looking for a key member of the Search team to build systems that make social media feeds/streams searchable in real-time. Ensure scalability, availability, and performance of the system by applying knowledge and experience with distributed systems and Hadoop. Design, build, and own APIs to provide an interface between Search and other systems that use it. Implement algorithms in an Object Oriented architecture using Java. Design and implement infrastructure services. Work with Amazon Web Services to deploy and maintain the software systems.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
• 1 year of related experience

• Demonstrated ability with designing and building large scale distributed software systems;
• Demonstrated ability with building search systems with HBase, Lucene, DynamoDB, Redis, Avro, and related technologies;
• Demonstrated ability with utilizing Java, C++, and scripting languages such as Python/PHP;
• Demonstrated ability with using knowledge of Algorithms, Data Structures, Design Patterns, Dependency Injection; and
• Demonstrated ability with using knowledge of Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, and the Hadoop framework.
• Will accept experience gained concurrently. Will accept experience gained before, during, or after Master’s program.
