Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Management and Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Analyst, Full Stack Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Analyst, Full Stack Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Managing projects using Agile methodologies, including conducting daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives; Designing scalable and maintainable application architectures; Designing and managing data structures for data integrity, security, and accessibility across systems; Developing and deploying applications using microservices architecture to enhance modularity and scalability; Building enterprise-level applications using J2EE; Deploying and managing Java-based solutions using J2EE; Developing back-end applications, including RESTful services, using the Spring framework, including Spring Boot; Developing scalable applications using Java programming; Back-end development and data processing using Python; Building user interfaces; Building user interfaces using React and component-based architecture; Enabling data interchange between client and server using JSON; Parsing and generating JSON data; Version control, including branching, merging, and maintaining code history using GIT; Unit testing Java applications using Junit; Conducting functional testing to validate application functionality against requirements; Performance testing for performance benchmarks and scalability requirements; Writing and executing unit tests for code correctness and reliability; Deploying and managing applications using AWS cloud services; Setting up and managing relational databases using AWS RDS; Encrypting and managing sensitive data using AWS KMS; Improving database efficiency and scalability using AWS RDS Proxy; Configuring AWS Network Load Balancer for traffic distribution; Managing sensitive information using AWS Secrets Manager; Configuring AWS Security Groups to control resource access; Developing serverless applications using AWS Lambda; Deploying and managing virtual servers using AWS EC2; Conducting object storage and data retrieval using AWS S3; Managing and querying relational databases for data integrity and performance; Creating and interpreting database entity diagrams for database design; Reducing redundancy and improving data integrity using data normalization techniques; Maintaining and publishing application updates, including bug fixes and performance enhancements, for accurate data retrieval from databases.
