Position Title: Sovereign Ratings - Senior Analyst

Entity: Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC

Summary/Overview:

Kroll Bond Rating Agency, Inc. (KBRA) is seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Sovereign Ratings team. This professional will conduct credit research/analysis and help monitor a portfolio of sovereign and sovereign-related exposures across the globe.  Ideal candidates will possess experience and interest in sovereign risk. The position is based out of KBRA’s New York City office. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the ratings process by helping to prepare credit reports for rating committees.
  • Perform macro focused research.
  • Support the team in database and data analytics needs.
  • Lead/assist in the development of analytical tools for the Sovereigns team.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Two (2) or more years of experience at a rating agency, buy-side, credit research, or banking firm, government policy agency or other similar environments as a credit risk analyst/ markets participant related to sovereign debt markets and country risk.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, and advanced degree preferred. Ideal candidates may have degrees in economics, international affairs, finance, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in politics and policy, global affairs, macroeconomics, credit ratings, fixed income research, origination, and capital markets.
  • Knowledge of sovereign credit metrics and sources of data
  • Ability to contribute meaningfully to credit ratings process and research efforts on Sovereigns and sovereign-related issuers and transactions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) and proven ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Ability to plan and participate in diligence meetings with government officials and a variety of experts in the different fields that influence sovereign credit risk.
  • Comfort in working in a highly collegial, dynamic, and innovative work environment.
  • Self-starter and an ability to manage time and resources in a fast-growing company.
  • Willing and able to travel.
  • Fluent in Spanish

Salary Range:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 to $90,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
