Do you eat, breathe, sleep and (of course) drink cocktails and spirits? Do you speak fluent internet? Are you dying to combine both of those talents into one awesome job? Keep reading. As a Supercall Staff Writer, you’ll create engaging, shareable, informative content about cocktails, spirits and drinking culture in general. You'll track down stories, execute quick-turn news stories as well as longer, reported stories, and help to produce full editorial packages by sourcing artwork or informing art created in house. In short, you will be writing about what you love the most (booze), for the thing you also love the most (the internet).

Our ideal candidate is a seasoned writer with a passion for cocktails and spirits and a strong grasp of writing for the web. He or she should excel in a fast-paced environment and be excited about filling the internet with grabby stories that make people thirsty for more. If you knew about the new Moscow Mule bar in SF before anyone else and have some serious opinions on the dos and don’ts of holiday party drinking, if you were up on the Chambong when it was still just a Kickstarter, and want to tell the world about the best places to get a drink and play mini golf, then we want you.

Responsibilities:

  • Track, pitch and write share-worthy stories
  • Immerse yourself in all things internet and booze
  • Work with the art team to produce engaging stories that immediately catch someone’s eye when they’re scrolling through their Facebook feed
  • Constantly be working to break the coolest spirit-centric news stories
  • Work within the voice of Supercall, channeling the person at the party you want to hang out with
  • Participate in weekly pitch meetings and work with the other editors to make Supercall the destination for all things drinking
  • Input content into CMS
  • Be a self-starter, working to keep yourself on track and ahead of the game at all points
  • Work constructively with the feedback you get from the Senior Editor, Executive Editor and Audience Team

Requirements:

  • Passionate about spirits/cocktails/bars and the drinking world
  • Fully saturated in all things internet, able to grab attentions and hold them
  • 1-3 years relevant experience writing for a digital company
  • Highly organized and able to hit deadlines, able to juggle multiple stories and deadlines at once
  • Extremely creative and always thinking about what that next story will hold
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of CMS
