What We Stand For and Where You’ll Come In

We're on the lookout for a talented individual who can spearhead our internal treasury management function. As the Treasury Manager, you'll take charge of documenting our treasury processes and ensuring we have the appropriate controls in place, managing our cash and movements of cash in our bank accounts and investments, reconciling our bank accounts, cash forecasting, managing our credit, including the overall strategy of use of credit cards for invoice payments, and strategic treasury functions.  Picture yourself as the driving force behind setting up and managing a world-class Treasury function.  This role will partner closely with our FP&A team, accounting team and senior management.

The Treasury Manager will report to the VP Finance/Controller.

One Team: We don’t think of ourselves as “Acquisition Marketers”, “Engineers”, “Data Analysts”, or “Product Managers”. Beyond denoting skill sets and areas of expertise, we don’t think departments matter. We’d rather align ourselves to the goals we’re working to achieve and make sure we have necessary subject matter expertise to drive meaningful impact. We strive to orient ourselves around customer problems TOGETHER – getting the right people, with the right context, in the right rooms/Zooms to solve problems holistically.

We are skeptical about everything and precious about nothing:  Ideas can and should come from anywhere, and we aren’t tied to our own. We proactively source input. We talk to our customers and leads regularly and are quick to change course if we know there’s a better or more impactful way to solve problems.

We consider the customer journey in all of our decisions:  We know that no interaction exists in a silo and therefore understand how important every single one is.  We ensure our strategy sets prospective and new customers up for success and drives long-term retention.  We answer questions and address problems early and proactively.  We understand the value of different channels, initiatives, and messages and know how to articulate impact and advocate for prioritization holistically.

We Execute For Impact: We don’t subscribe to “best practices” or “industry KPIs”. We’re uninterested in how we compare to “benchmarks”; instead we orient ourselves around being the best we can possibly be. Similarly, we don’t subscribe to rigid or classical expectations of roles – i.e. acquisition is hyper-focused on improving customer retention and experience.

We Are Focused and Work Without Assumption: We are not beholden to ideas. We have goals and believe everything beyond that is a series of hypotheses to validate. To that end, we seek to work in sequence and not in parallel. We constantly ask ourselves, “what’s the most important hypothesis I should be working on right now? How do I confirm or reject that hypothesis as fast as possible?”. We rarely have timelines/deadlines and are constantly taking in new information and adjusting our priorities accordingly. We don’t expect to be perfect the first time.

How You'll Make An Impact
  • Own and build out the treasury function by serving as the primary point of contact with our external banking and treasury partners and our internal finance and accounting partners
  • Ensure compliance with our debt covenants and compile and report compliance to our banking partners
  • Monitor our bank balances and move money between accounts to ensure compliance with covenants and that we are maximizing the efficient use of our cash and investments
  • Reconcile cash weekly including pulling data from Netsuite and our banks, categorizing that data and analyzing for trends and reconciling to our expectations
  • Collaborate internally with Accounting, Tax, Finance and Humans (what we refer to as HR) groups to forecast cash on a weekly and 13 week rolling basis, building out robust long-term cash forecasting processes and improve cash forecasting accuracy
  • Lead strategic initiatives including advising on appropriate capital structure and determining investment hurdles
  • Manage our investment options and suggest new strategies as market dynamics change
  • Oversee the use of our credit, including credit cards, to ensure the most efficient invoice and bill payment methods are being used
  • Help define, standardize, evolve and document procedures and controls around cash management, including proactively knowledge sharing with others, setting exemplary standards all while seeking and welcoming feedback in the process
  • Implement automation as much as possible to manage the movements of our cash and investments
  • Review monthly bank account reconciliations
We're Excited About You Because
  • You bring 5+ years of experience in banking and/or treasury functions, either in-house at a company or at a financial institution
  • You bring a background and knowledge in banking and treasury, as well as ideas around how to automate processes and implement good controls
  • You are process-oriented, and are always challenging to improve existing processes and question what and how we are doing things
  • You are able to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, are naturally curious 
  • You have a proven track record of working very closely with cross-functional internal partners and external banking and credit partners, aligning priorities and translating ambiguous, challenging business problems into concrete and impactful solutions.
  • You are detail-oriented and proactive, you thrive as a self-starter and excel in managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • You’re an owner, have excellent problem-solving skills and can prioritize tasks effectively, with a strong attention to detail
  • Your decisions are data-driven, and you thrive on delving deep into intricacies
  • You have familiarity with ERPs (Netsuite is a plus)

We commit to building a competitive compensation package and company environment for all individuals to thrive. We believe in competitive base compensation rooted in location specific market data and performance along with equity ownership in the company that allows every team member to build their personal wealth as the company grows, just as much as we believe in fostering a culture that supports our team members personally, professionally, and holistically. For this role the anticipated hiring base compensation range is $121,000.00 - $135,000.00 USD Annual and the compensation offered will include a robust market competitive package of base and equity. In addition to your base compensation offer you will also receive equity ownership in the company. More information about the value of this equity will be shared at the time of offer. This range is representative of NYC Market Data if you are applying to this role outside of the NYC area the range may change.
