The Role

Business Insider is hiring a VP, Sales - Luxury Lifestyle to join our Advertising Team to lead the development, execution, and leadership of a sales strategy across the United States, focusing on multiple client categories within the luxury lifestyle sectors.

The Role & Team:

As a Vice President, Sales you will play a pivotal role in our ambitious journey towards becoming one of the world's most beloved and influential media brands. This leadership position will contribute directly to the growth and evolution of Business Insider.

The mission is to scale and strengthen Business Insider’s monetization abilities, enhance its brand presence, and foster positive relationships with existing and prospective clients and industry groups.

This role reports directly to the Global Head of Sales and sits on the Advertising Sales team. This role will be in New York City with an expectation of being in the office or visiting clients at least 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and communicate revenue goals, establishing and monitoring sales metrics and targets.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top-caliber sales executives, reassessing organizational structure and processes as needed.
  • Strategically plan and lead activities focused on establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with clients, cultivating deep connections with key decision-makers.
  • Provide clear management direction, foster open communication, and promote a collaborative environment.
  • Act as an “evangelist” for Business Insider, articulating the company’s unique value proposition both internally and externally.
  • Lead high-level relationships with key clients and agencies, supporting forecast/budget processes and providing updates on performance.
  • Collaborate with Editorial, Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to develop products and services that attract key customers.
  • Develop strategic account plans to achieve revenue goals, representing Business Insider at events and serving as a brand ambassador.

  • Strong Network: Demonstrated ability to collaborate with executives from advertising agencies and clients within the luxury lifestyle industries.
  • Management Expertise: Proven track record of retaining and attracting top talent, ensuring motivation, reward, and engagement within the salesforce during a period of significant growth.
  • Digital Media Expertise: Sophisticated understanding of creative custom packages, data-driven audience programs, and programmatic sales across various geographic areas.
  • Passion for Diversity and Inclusivity: Commitment to building and maintaining a diverse work environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com.
  • Deep knowledge of the Luxury Lifestyle categories

Salary & Benefits: 

  • Base salary: $200,000-$230,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
  • Additional bonus/commission
