As a Senior Data Engineer at TpT you will be working with other members of the Data Engineering team, other Platform and Product Engineering teams, and business teams including Analytics, Product, Marketing, and Finance, to ensure that people and systems have access to clean, reliable, understandable, curated data. You’ll help to build and improve our Data Warehouse, pipelines, and related infrastructure, using your ability to think systematically, abstractly, and empathetically. In this role you will help push the Data Engineering team forward, advocating for best practices and helping to mentor more junior team members.

As a Product Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be a key member of our Product Data team responsible for helping drive effective, analytically driven decisions for product teams to build the best products for our teachers, students, and school administrators. You will drive operational efficiency and improve business outcomes through actionable, insightful data visualization. Collaborating with other data team members and product managers, you will develop an intimate knowledge of our databases and work with our data warehousing and Looker developers to design the best tables to achieve the best visual outcomes. The Director of Content Acquisition will lead the team responsible for shaping the future direction of Newsela’s content offerings, enabling Newsela to adapt to shifting business and market needs. To build a comprehensive pool of licensable content, your team will identify, analyze, and execute the acquisition of new content partners (e.g. NY Times, Players’ Tribune), content formats (e.g. videos, novels), and content direction/strategy (e.g. new revenue models, market opportunities). Reporting to the Chief Content Officer, you will set the vision and strategy for this team, and help shape the future of Newsela’s content library. You will also work closely with our Product, Editorial, Operations, Instructional Content, Customer, and Data teams to produce holistic recommendations and secure company-wide buy-in. 

Assessment Associate, ELA

The Assessment Associate will support the creation of engaging assessments for Newsela’s content, and will help drive the quality and diversity of ways in which educators can track and build upon their students’ learning. In this role, you will contribute to the design of ELA assessments, give feedback to freelance contributors on how to build out exceptional assessments, and conduct research and analysis to ensure our assessments are consistent and aligned to best practices. You will research ELA assessments (best practices, efficacy, and shifting state standards) to contribute to informed decisions about assessment development, in addition to establishing and tracking quality metrics.

This role will help set and maintain the caliber of copy for many of our customer-facing properties and publications – including marketing pages, blog, social and email channels, and more – with a strong focus on delivering sharp, engaging content and data-driven results. The Senior Editor will be adept at partnering with multiple internal stakeholders to produce and curate content to meet our priority business and community needs.
