Momofuku founder's food delivery startup just nabbed $7M from lineup of celebrity investors

Ando, the delivery-only restaurant by Momofuku’s David Chang and Garret Camp’s Expa, just closed a $7M Series A round from a star-studded lineup of investors.

While the round was led by Forerunner, with participation from BoxGroup and Wildcat Venture Partners, it also included a who’s who of NYC's coolest angels. Ready for the lineup?

Strategic angel investors include: William Lauder, Chairman of Estee Lauder; Neil Blumenthal, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Warby Parker; Andy Katz-Mayfield, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Harry's; Abdur Chowdry, Former Chief Scientist at Twitter; Dick Boyce, TPG partner and former Chairman of Burger King; Elizabeth Cutler, Founder of SoulCycle; Jimmy Fallon and Aziz Ansari.

Yes, you read those last two correctly — Jimmy Fallon and Aziz Ansari.

Ando is David Chang's delivery-only version of his wildly popular Momofuku restaurant, which allows diners to order online or through the company's app.

With the round, Ando is planning on expanding their menu and delivery zone. Currently, the company’s delivery zone is limited to a frustratingly small area in Midtown East. The company did not elaborate on where they’ll deliver to in the future.
