Description

We’re excited to announce the following AgTech startups have been selected to compete in our September 25th Future of Farming pitch contest, presented by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and the NYC Ag Collective.

NATIVE AgTech, founded by Sarah Sanders, democratizes agricultural data by integrating technology throughout food supply chains, accelerating traceability and waste mitigation.

WeRadiate, founded by Sashti Balu, ensures regulatory compliance for compost quality through field sensors.

FoodFul, founded by Joseph Tarnate, modernizes dairy herd management by installing IoT sensors in the barns to monitor cow's health and feed intake.

Food Cycle, founded by Alexis Lin, processes food waste into feed for black soldier fly larva, to feed grubs that are high quality feed for chickens (and pets!).

GrowSquares, cofounded by Daeshaun McClintock, engineers personalized urban gardens with the help of advanced microbiology and data science.

Our judges will be:

Ilia Papas, founder of Blue Apron and angel investor

Mike Lightman, managing partner, Big Idea Ventures

Lily Bernicker, venture capital investor at the Collaborative Fund

Henry Sztul, SVP of Science and Technology and first hire at Bowery Farming

Soo Choi, startup ecosystem manager at Google

Tickets are good for drinks, food, and time to network with founders, investors, and members of Brooklyn’s tech community.

The winner will receive a $5,000 prize courtesy of our keynote sponsors JPMorgan Chase & Co. and NYU Tandon School of Engineering.

Additionally, the winner will receive a free consultation with EA Creative Consulting to review business plan and strategy, and $20,000 in credits for Google's Cloud for Startups server storage, courtesy of Google and The Grid. We offer thanks to all these sponsors as well as OCP North America.
