Meet the tech companies working in the World Trade Center

The One World Trade Center is a massive building. It’s the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere and towers over the rest of the island. Having an office with a One World Trade Center address carries a certain caché. After all, an office in one of the world's most iconic buildings says something about a company's power and success.

The new World Trade Center complex is visibly and obviously different from the old, but when you dig deeper the change is more than skin deep. One of the most striking changes is the sorts of companies that are calling the buildings home. The Financial District as a whole has seen an increase in tech companies and the World Trade Center is no different.

If you want to work in tech in the World Trade Center complex, here are five companies you should check out.

What they do: Mic is a new media company that reaches an audience of over 22 million with stories about everything from politics to music and the arts.

The office: Mic has 36,000 square feet on the 82nd floor of the One World Trade Center building.

What they do: MediaMath created TerminalOne, a platform where marketers can manage all of their digital ends in one place.

The office: MediaMath has just over 100,000 square feet over the 44th, 45th and 46th floors of Four World Trade Center. We were actually lucky enough to visit their offices, and they’re stunning, with 360-degree views of the city and an open floor plan.

What they do: Juno is a new car-hailing service that is taking on Uber by wooing away their drivers. They also don't have surge pricing but pay drivers extra out of their own pocket when demand is high.

The office: Juno has 10,000 square feet on the 84th floor of the One World Trade Center building.

What they do: xAd specializes in location-based ad targeting, which helps marketers deliver personalized messages to their customers while they’re near a business.

The office: xAd has 80,000 square feet on the 60th floor of One World Trade Center Building.

What they do: High 5 Games makes casino-themed games for the land-based, online and social markets. So far, the company has created over 300 games that are played on six contents and nearly 50 countries.

The office: High 5 Games has 87,663 square feet in the One World Trade Center Building.
