As an algorithms engineer you will be developing data driven algorithms that make the smart home smarter!


The Job 

  • Create predictive models to estimate user engagement 
  • Work with large amounts of data
  • Identify opportunities that would help improve people's home experience 
  • Apply predictive modeling techniques for a variety of user modeling tasks
  • Work closely with experience designers to develop features that makes users' homes more comfortable and intelligent.
  • Run a variety of different tests to optimize our users' experience.
  • Recognize that sometimes (If not most times) the simple solution is the best solution

The Qualifications 

  • Hands-on experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms for regression, classification, and clustering
  • Hands-on experience analyzing large data sets
  • Hands-on experience using structured and unstructured data, ideally in a HDFS-based store using some variation of MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Spark, or a SQL interface
  • Proficient in Python
  • Strong engineering experience in Python, C, C++ or Java.
  • Familiar with A/B testing methodology and test analysis
  • Familiar with classical statistics and time series analysis
  • Predictive Analytics- Clustering, regression, neural networks, etc.
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in one of the following: Computer Science (with focus on artificial intelligence, data mining, or machine learning), Astrophysics, Bioinformatics, Economics, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Particle Physics, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, or another quantitative scientific field
