As our first Android Engineer at Handshake, you'll build mission-critical applications enabling retailers worldwide to get the right products on their shelves at the right time. Working on the same team as Product Managers, Designers, Python Engineers and Front-End Engineers, you will build and improve applications that are a critical part of how every product reaches every shelf worldwide.

Handshake's mission is to help manufacturers & distributors grow their business by making it easy for their customers to order the right products from them in-person and online. The software we build provides our customers with a commerce platform that replaces the antiquated paper-and-clipboard-based systems used by brand salespeople and retail buyers, allowing for more products to reach more retailers with less cost, at greater speed and with less environmental impact.

Handshake Direct Mobile is our first Android App, and one that will help retailers worldwide restock their shelves directly from their shelves. Replacing clunky clipboards and antiquated scanning solutions, your app will provide an eCommerce experience on par with the best consumer products available, while simultaneously giving buyers the data they need to make intelligent ordering decisions. To build Handshake Direct Mobile for Android you’ll first need to implement The Handshake Platform for Android. The Handshake Platform allows for complete customization of data, logic and UI across all of our products without any need for re-compiling an application. Your platform will let our developer users define custom types, upload custom code and create custom themes which will sync and immediately customize the behavior of the application for their users both on and offline.
