StartUp Health is hiring an associate attorney with at least two years experience to work with the Chief Compliance Officer, on legal/compliance issues involving our Company and 180+ portfolio companies. 

Responsibilities

• Support Chief Compliance Officer on all legal matters including partnership/sponsorship contracts, agreements, due diligence, document organization and M&A activity
• Review agreements and documents related to prospective companies and portfolio company investment participation rights
• Provide guidance regarding the legal implications of all matters pertaining to the operations of a business, including risk management, employment matters, corporate governance issues, regulatory matters, and intellectual property 
• Organize incoming legal requests from team, partners and portfolio and ensure project deadlines are met according to priority
• Manage legal document organization and maintenance required by the Company for all portfolio companies
• Research startup financing and legal trends and changes in healthcare law to best advise portfolio companies

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years full-time corporate and transactional law experience, at a law firm or in-house 
• Health law and/or Intellectual Property experience preferred
• JD from an ABA accredited law school and Bar membership in good standing
• Strong judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality, with an understanding of the intersection of legal and business issues
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work and manage a high volume workload with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels in an organization and with outside counsel
• Able to think strategically in anticipation of the future needs of the company
