We’re a fast growing startup looking for a Controller to help us stay on track. As a controller, you’ll be given the opportunity grow as the company grows. From ensuring compliance, software selection, and implementation, to ultimately building and maintaining a high-performance financial operation, this position is full of growth potential.
What you'll do:
- Create and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax law, including federal and state income tax, sales and use tax, and franchise tax
- Ensure compliance with public reporting requirements for the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)
- Software selection and implementation for accounting and finance, including a new ERP
- Build and maintain a high-performance financial operations function, including A/P, billing, and collections
- Establish and maintain an annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Create monthly variance reporting and work closely with leaders to help them meet or exceed plans
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
What you have:
- Over 7-10 years of relevant experience
- Your CPA
- A passion for equipping people with financial knowledge to make smart business decisions
- Experience building and leading accounting teams
- Experience with high growth start-ups
- A drive to continuously improve systems, processes, and procedures in a way that speeds up execution, not slows it down
- Experience implementing accounting systems
- Phenomenal communication skills and the ability to boil down complex financial speak to normal talk
