Job Description
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for deploying our core API and services using cloud- and container-based technologies. You are also involved with defining, implementing, and enforcing various best practices in the CI/CD process.
We are looking for an engineer who is excited about automating the tools and infrastructure that enable rapid delivery of our applications and to stay ahead of potential performance issues.
Core Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent and relevant work experience
Excellent debugging skills to identify problems with software builds, deployments, or related issues and driving the problem to a permanent resolution
Advanced knowledge in a Unix/Linux-based environment
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of scripting in Bash, Python, or similar
Self-motivated, naturally curious, analytical and problem solving mindset
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Solid understanding of software versioning concepts using Git or Mercurial
Proficiency with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins or Travis CI
Proficiency with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or other configuration management tools
Familiarity with the Hashicorp suite of tools: Terraform, Consul, Packer, Vagrant, etc.
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker, Mesos, Core OS, Kubernetes
Basic knowledge of networking, firewall, and load balancing concepts and their configuration
Applied experience with modern application technologies & design patterns including (AWS) cloud infrastructure, distributed computing, horizontal scaling, & database technologies
- Experience with Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus
