Director of Business Intelligence
Do you obsess over the design of KPI’s & OKR’s? Do you love figuring out the story behind a trend? Are you excited about empowering teams with dashboards, data visualization, and concrete insights? If yes, then we want to hear from you!
We’re a data driven company, so you’ll never hear, “we can’t afford a good BI tool.” As our Director of BI, you’ll report to our technically-focused COO. You will work directly with executives, department heads and teams members across Updater to drive insights and own the tools & technology that will empower all of us to make smarter decisions.
What you'll do:
- Own of our BI platform (Domo)
- Investigate the landscape and select which tools we use & migrate to
- Develop and mentor a data analyst team, as well as mentor other team members in data analysis, reporting, and visualization
- Breakdown of company OKRs into clear visualizations that show impact at every level of the company, down to individual contributors
- Build our data warehouse
- Work with engineering to ensure we can always report on what we need
- Provide reporting, interpret data, extract trends, and identify insights or opportunities for product and business decisions
What you have:
- A passion to empower people with tools to get the data they need
- 7+ yrs experience in business intelligence or analytics
- Experience with and/or knowledge of a wide range of BI tools
- A belief that successful companies are driven by reporting, metrics, and insights
- Experience building a data warehouse
- A love for working with engineering to influence the data model
- Strong data visualization skills and a passion for data and analysis
- Great communication skills and the ability to interface with all departments and obtain buy-in from across the company
