Intersection is looking for a Director of Deployment to join our team. This is a great opportunity to join an exciting new company bringing innovation to the urban cityscape. The Director of Deployment is responsible for managing fast-paced, high profile, large deployment project through all phases of planning, site design, permitting and construction.

In this role, you will accomplish:

  • Ensuring projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting contractual obligations and business objectives
  • Providing leadership for project team by managing, coordinating, and developing staff of Intersection and third party project managers
  • Operating with significant independence and minimal supervision as the principal project representative
  • Working cooperatively with business representatives and other service providers such as telecommunications, utilities, general contractors, government and regulatory agencies
  • Driving LinkNYC installation to hit predetermined project forecast and goals
  • Managing capital expenses and evaluate alternative means and methods of construction to decrease cost while increasing productivity
  • Responsibility for overall program scope, strategy, and requirements

 Things we are looking for:

  • Experience in the direct management of large, complex projects with responsibility for site analysis, permitting and approvals, budget control, estimating, design and construction coordination, and project scheduling
  • Experience with telecom
  • Construction experience in NYC
  • Multi-tasking ability (prioritize, organize, and schedule work)
  • Problem-solving capabilities (identify, analyze, research, evaluate and resolve)
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and partner management)
  • SiteTraker or database experience a plus

Education:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Architecture or related field. An advanced degree in Business/Management/Finance/Construction Management or a related field is strongly preferred.  

Personal Characteristics:

  • Must exhibit initiative and a strong desire to achieve results
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and motivate teams of people
  • Excellent customer service and analytical skills are necessary as is a personality that pays attention to details
  • Must be computer literate in the use of typical construction industry software packages (e.g. scheduling, data tracking, invoices, etc.)
  • Must have demonstrated ability to manage complexity and must be organizationally/politically astute
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff and a strong understanding of the entire deployment process from research to planning to pre-construction and construction
