Mic is looking for a talented and energized editorial intern to assist the copy team. This is a pivotal position that focuses on detail-oriented editing, fact-checking and innovative digital storytelling. The editorial intern will report to Mic’s copy chief.

This is a paid full-time summer internship based in New York City. We expect interns to work 40 hours a week for the duration of the program (June 5, 2017 - August 11, 2017). Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Fact-check and copy edit 5-10 stories daily
• Fact-check and copy edit five video scripts a week
• Fact-check one originally reported feature during the internship period
• Assist in copy editing newsletters, push notifications and other content for Mic's social media team
• Monitor Mic website for copy errors in published content

Qualifications:

• Prior experience copy editing or fact-checking 
• Working knowledge of Associated Press style
• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
