Email Marketing Manager
- Own the email marketing discipline and lifecycle marketing strategy at Codecademy, focusing on creating value for learners, maximizing learner completion rates, and improving learner success.
- Own an email marketing revenue target, and own hitting that revenue goal each month.
- Create and execute campaigns that drive active usage among free learners, or that drive free learners to convert into our paid programs.
- Manage list segmentation, triggered emails, lifecycle campaigns, seasonal promotions, and new course launches.
- Work closely with marketing and product leadership.
- Constantly be testing, iterating, and communicate results, without the need for analytics support.
- As you distinguish yourself, there will be ample opportunities to grow into owning other marketing channels or levels of the funnel.
- Constantly seek opportunities to improve our processes and methodology.
- Strive for analytical excellence maximizing return and increasing efficiency.
- At least 3 years of email or retention marketing experience.
- Passionate about data. Excellent analytical skills and an inquisitive nature.
- Tremendous attention to detail.
- Experience with SQL.
- At Codecademy, an interest in learning to code is required.
- Experience at medium- to late-stage startups.
- Experience in freemium online services or consumer SaaS businesses.
- Experience with BI tools like Mixpanel, Looker and marketing automation tools like Customer.io or Marketo.
- Ability to code emails in HTML / CSS.
