The role we are looking to fill:

We are looking to add someone to the team who can take ownership for all the day-to-day finance and business operations of our growing organization (experience with accounting and some finance is a necessity).

Your responsibilities will center around:

  • From a finance/accounting perspective, you will be responsible for all financial operations and reporting. This includes everything from day-to-day expense categorization, to financial statement development and month-close, to board presentation preparation in conjunction with Neverware’s CEO. A strong familiarity with spreadsheets and Quickbooks will make your life significantly easier.

  • From an Operations perspective, you’ll manage both the HR and business operations sides of the house. For HR, this includes employee benefits and payroll, while helping onboard new employees and serving as the liaison between our employees and our benefits providers. For business operations, it means maintaining strong relationships with a range of third-party vendors who we do business with (from our landlord to Fresh Direct to Salesforce.com to lawyers to accountants and on and on).
  • Key skills you need for this role:

    • Strong work ethic: There is always more work than time. We need someone who will come in and tackle all the work that needs to be done and always deliver on time.
    • Team Mindset: Your job is to provide best-in-class infrastructure so that the rest of the company can thrive. We need someone who understands that early stage companies are the ultimate team game. Many tasks are way short of glamorous - supporting a growing business can be filled with long hours & hard work.
    • Professional maturity and discretion: You will be asked to work independently much of the time. That means you will need to know when to raise your hand and ask for help, without being prompted. Additionally, you will be handling sensitive information and must understand the related responsibility.
    • Accounting background: You must be familiar with basic accounting practices and be comfortable creating, editing and analyzing financial spreadsheets. Preferably you have at least intermediate knowledge of QuickBooks.
