Job Description

You will be joining a brand new team, working on tooling that many of our user interface teams will employ. You will work closely with design and product to help craft solutions that will be utilized throughout our organization to help bridge the gap between product teams and their users. You will work with your partner in product evaluate 3rd party solutions and be responsible for the implementation of them, along with custom solutions to provide functionality missing from those tools. These tools will need to communicate with other applications like analytics and our CRM. The primary responsibility of the product will be to convey new and updated features to our users in a smart and intuitive manner, and provide channels for feedback from our users regarding the applications that use this tool.

You will be responsible for technical architecture and leadership over how we solve this problem and will report directly to the director of engineering for planning software. Given that this team is in its nascent stages, you will be able to help define the technology, frameworks, libraries and practices used (within certain organizational guidelines).

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional javascript experience
  • Abreast of current trends, best practices and web standards
  • Experience with page speed testing and optimization techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript
  • Understanding of fundamental CSS paradigms and their applications
  • Passion for writing semantic and standards ­compliant cross-­browser HTML/CSS
  • Familiarity with front-end CSS frameworks (Foundation, Bootstrap, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more modern Javascript MVC frameworks (React, Angular, Backbone, etc.)
  • Experience with JavaScript on the server (Express, Koa.js, etc.)
  • Experience with build tools (Grunt, Gulp, Webpack, etc.)
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)
  • Experience with CSS pre­compilers (Sass, Less)
  • Experience with automated unit and integration tests to support continuous delivery
  • Familiarity working in a Unix environment
  • Comfort with mobile-first responsive development strategies
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and nontechnical team members

  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with mongodb
  • Experience with UI test automation (webdriverio, selenium, ect.)
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience evaluating third party tools and frameworks
  • Active participant and contributor to the open source community
