The Role:

As a Junior Designer at Intersection, you will be primarily responsible for supporting our growing LinkNYC creative offering. You will report into the Associate Creative Director (ACD) and will support Marketing, Product, and other internal clients, as well as be key in the growth of our external creative development capability.

 What you will Accomplish:

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to create stand-out executions for LinkNYC, including static / animated client advertising and house content. This will entail campaign ideation and development, building artwork from templates, production of original designs, graphic elements, assets, visual treatments, etc.
  • Additionally, support the ACD in all creative undertakings and other needs as they arise. Deliverables could include digital advertising, websites, video, photography, social creative, internal communications, corporate identity, event materials, and more.
  • Work closely with a network of full-time design professionals and freelancers in NYC and other markets, including photographers, videographers, visual designers, etc.

What we are looking for:

  • A passionate and talented junior designer, with a commanding sense of layout, typography, color, and composition
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take direction while offering strong initiative and a curious mindset
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of an agile team to meet tight deadlines
  • Expertise in Adobe CC, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; proficiency with Google Slides/Keynote
  • Wireframing, photo retouching, and video production/post-production skills preferred
  • Illustration and animation skills are a huge plus
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest graphic styles, website and communication designs, skills, software and platforms; a keen interest in the industry
  • Bachelor's degree in design or related field; agency, tech, or start-up experience preferred
