Grubhub is a place where authentically fun culture meets innovation and teamwork. We believe in empowering people and opening doors for new opportunities. If you're looking for a place that values strong relationships, embraces diverse ideas-all while having fun together-Grubhub is the place for you!
We're looking for an analytics leader that's inspired by our mission to deliver food happiness, to join our growing Data Analytics Team. You are an ambassador for self-service reporting tools and will support company growth by taking ownership of data assets and its supporting data collection and tag management infrastructures.
Our Data Analytics team is responsible for data collection around website and mobile app user experiences, and making that data available and accessible so that our collaborators can produce actionable insights and data-driven decisions. This data is used by Product, Design, Marketing, Finance, peer Analyst teams, and Leadership to measure the performance of our products and marketing campaigns, and to guide their optimizations of the user experience.
The Impact You Will Make
You'll be a Manager for a business vertical focused on our consumer-facing e-commerce products, working on key projects alongside our collaborator teams. These projects add tremendous value to the business and we are looking for a thoughtful, driven, and curious analytics leader to push the business further.

  • Establish and maintain process with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to identify new areas of data collection and existing asset enhancements, and drive data roadmaps in support of short and long term business objectives
  • Guide product managers, marketers, and analysts through KPI discovery exercises, to ensure impactful metrics and tangible definitions map back to business goals.
  • Design and implement web & mobile analytics tracking requirements, to enable performance measurement of apps, in-product features, experiments, and/or marketing traffic channels
  • Be a key curator of our data. Develop and enforce best practices for analytics tag schemas, data audit processes, to ensure there is a baseline of data quality, consistency, and architectural integrity throughout historical data
  • Partner closely with Engineering teams, to translate metrics into analytics implementation requirements, and to drive technical workflows for both implementation and testing.
  • Build strategic-minded dashboards, to identify and analyze trends and shifts in customer behavior across both browser and native mobile apps.
  • Train collaborators and peer analysts on how to effectively use in-product user experience data

What You Bring to the Table

  • 6+ years of relevant website and/or mobile apps analytics experience (eCommerce preferred).
  • Managed various stakeholder groups, with clear and concise communication to help them identify business goals, translate them into measurable KPIs, and set expectations on reporting impact
  • Effective project manager, with a process-driven approach to prioritize tasks and lead results-oriented discussions
  • Experience creating data collection solutions even more so than creating reports, with a good understanding of website or mobile app tag structures, event log collection, and its impact on downstream reports.
  • Hands-on tag and variable implementation experience for product launches, using Web Analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc) or Tag Managers (i.e. Tealium, Google Tag Manager, Segment, etc.).
  • Can manipulate large datasets and present complex information in a easy to understand way for business stakeholders
  • Exposure to A/B Testing methodologies, crafting targeted custom variables, segmentation, and analyses to validate a hypothesis
  • Thoughtful dashboarding strategies, providing team guidance on building cohesive suites of dashboards that balances the focus between northstar performance metrics vs exploratory KPIs
  • Good understanding of Attribution Analysis to examine marketing campaign influence in site traffic volume and conversion rates.
  • Provide strategic perspectives when interpreting quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • A team player with a strong value system

Got These? Even Better:

  • Comfortable working with raw event log data to gain granular insights to user behavior dynamics.
  • Experience with attribution analysis to examine marketing campaign influence in site traffic performance
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Google Data Studio, or other dashboarding tools
  • Database experience dealing with very large datasets, and good comfort writing complex SQL
  • Familiar with JavaScript
  • An Excel aficionado; proficient in the creation of PowerPoint presentations and public speaking.
  • Managed ad pixels and reporting for marketing campaign performance.
