Sitting within BuzzFeed’s newly created Product Lab, this position will be responsible for assisting with all day-to-day aspects of operations, from order fulfillment and logistics, to tracking and reporting on key operational metrics, predicting demand and finance. 

The ideal candidate is a self-starter that’s resourceful, highly detail-oriented and enjoys a fast-paced environment. You must be comfortable working with ambiguity and quickly solving complex problems. This job is based in BuzzFeed’s Product Lab, located in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood and will report to the Head of Operations and Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage relationships with vendors to support all aspects of planning, procurement, production management/scheduling, and fulfillment.
  • Partner with our 3PL to oversee warehouse management, logistics and returns management for omni-channel distribution.
  • Assist in the on-boarding and compliance of new customers and sales channels
  • Work with operations team, brand managers and marketing to analyze demand and predict inventory needs using forecasting models and other operational variables that impact key company metrics.
  • Process vendor invoices including recording and tracking costs to effectively control budget and facilitate procure-to-pay process across internal business functions.
  • Record and streamline back-end operational processes including order to cash flow, returns and refund processing, fraud prevention, repairs and warranty, etc.
  • Define and track KPIs across functional areas, own operational metrics related to vendor and inventory performance
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities
  • Support and lead projects related to supply chain growth and optimization

Requirements:

  • 1 - 3 years of previous operations or supply chain experience, fast-moving consumer goods preferred
  • Strong data and quantitative skills, proficient with Excel
  • Strong analytical background
  • Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools
  • Understanding of the basic accounting principles and budgeting
