DESCRIPTION
Away is seeking an eager and dedicated public relations assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in writing, public relations, the startup world and, of course, travel. We're a small (but mighty!) department within a quickly growing team, and this person will have the opportunity to learn valuable PR skills while contributing creatively to our larger goals. This role is based in our HQ in Soho, NYC.
REQUIREMENTS
What you'll do:
- Track media hits and monitor industry news
- Research new markets and ideate creative pitch opportunities
- Coordinate samples and facilitate press, influencer and celebrity gifting opportunities
- Assist in writing and the ideation of press materials
- Maintaining press lists
- Lend support at press events
- Go above and beyond to help the team in various tasks
Who you are:
- Smart and organized
- Friendly and patient
- Detail oriented
- Previous experience in public relations, editorial, marketing or media a plus
- Knowledge of media outlets, trends, and current topics
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced and energetic environment
- Never satisfied with the status quo, always thinking "how can we do this better?"
- Hard working with a "no task is too small" attitude
- Eager to learn and take on new and varied responsibilities
