ABOUT THE ROLE
VTS is looking for a Principal Data Scientist to drive the company’s initiative into market intelligence and predictive analytics. Our Data team delivers insights and value to clients from heterogeneous data sets and improves client’s decision making processes. As a Principal Data Scientist, you will be at the very forefront of a leveraging data within the context of commercial real estate, the second largest asset class in the world. You must not only be able to conceptualize and model solutions, but also must have the technical background to implement them.
As a Principal Data Scientist, you will...
- Define and execute data science solutions that address client use cases and business requirements
- Perform hands-on data exploration and modeling over big data technologies and conceptualize new / innovative ways to leverage real estate data.
- Support client efforts by communicating VTS’s experiences, methodologies, and solutions
- Partner with clients to successfully deliver data science solutions, including associated documentation and presentations
- Employ machine learning strategies, regression analysis models to leverage VTS’ unique data set
Qualifications
- 7+ years working in quantitative roles
- Building statistical models with tools such as IBM SPSS, Minitab, JMP, R, MATLAB, SAS, etc.
- Building industry-class solutions that involve machine learning, massively-parallel statistical computing, economic-modeling, big data processing, anomaly detection, and database querying.
- Exploring, manipulating, and visualizing data in heterogeneous data to find new patterns and signals
- Ability to develop and implement models, post design with the aid of the engineering team
- Ability to give both technical and sales presentations as well as engage dynamic conversations with varied audiences
- Ability to travel to client sites as required
Education
- Masters/PhD in fields of Statistics, Applied Math, Advanced Physics, Computer Science, Econometrics
