This person will report into VP of Product Marketing and will be responsible for helping strategize and driving the creation of the product portfolio that will support Glossier’s brand and product positioning and business growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the VP of Product Marketing to lead the cohesive product portfolio strategy that will drive fast and sustainable revenue and recruit incremental customers to the brand (new potential markets and targets)
  • Establish, evolve and lead a differentiated product philosophy that is integrated with our brand value proposition, mission and point of view
    • Constantly challenge the status quo by building a portfolio with unique and innovative approaches to each category that meet the needs of our target audiences
    • Ensure our products reflect our mission, reinventing the beauty experience for our target customers while maintaining our editorial roots and customer-centric approach
  • Help plan a rolling 18-month calendar according to seasonality, our target audiences and our marketing objectives.
  • Coordinate every new product’s execution by collaborating closely with all different stakeholders to ensure marketing objectives are met (Product Development, Packaging, Planning, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Creatives etc.)
    • Analyze the market opportunity, customer insights and need gaps
    • Work closely with PD to identify the trends driving the specific segment
    • Define the different target audiences and collaborate with Marketing team to create a go-to-market plan that reaches the target audiences
    • Create the concept and Unique Selling Proposition that will drive the product execution
    • Establish the product mix brief (formula, pack, pricing, messaging) and work across teams to ensure their execution meets the objectives: collaborate with PD on the formula brief and validation, work closely with creative on the product’s visual identity and campaign messaging.
  • Drive the increased use of data-driven decision making across the Marketing team and cross-functionally, leveraging customer journey data to optimize the Glossier product experience across all Marketing channels
  • Lead and oversee post-launch and ongoing performance analysis across all teams
  • Lead and oversee a strategy to maximize current products sales; collaborate with key Marketing and Creative stakeholders to drive the re-support of existing product line through re-targeting, re-messaging or renovations and kick-off the execution
  • Constantly evaluate industry trends and consumer trends, identifying and managing third party data sources and analyzing reports as inputs to overall product marketing strategy
  • Lead cross-functionally 'special projects' that advance/evolve our product marketing capabilities as a direct to consumer brand

 

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in product or brand marketing
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize findings into a digestible form
  • Passion for beauty trends with an ability to analyze their potential for a given brand
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills; must be personable yet persistent
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Must be enthusiastic, creative and entrepreneurial and have a go-getter attitude
