When was the last time you were planning a business trip and really tried to save your company money? If your company allowed you to stay in a fancy hotel, would you ever volunteer to stay at an Airbnb or at a friend’s house? How about flying coach instead of business class? The vast majority of employees optimize for comfort and convenience, spending at the high end of their company policy limits, because, well, why not? So how can a company get its employees to care about expenses without implementing draconian policies, creating friction and frustrating employees? How can a company motivate its employees to save?
The answer is Rocketrip. We’re a NYC-based startup that rewards business travelers for cost-sensitive behavior. It’s a win-win: companies save, while employees cash in with real rewards.

The Role
If you've been in engineering for a while you know that the difference between making good software and making great software is through the strength of your quality team and processes. We tend to think about QA a little differently than most as we strongly believe that the path to high quality software is through an engineering focused process that is supported through quality assistance and not quality assurance. So we do not believe in test plans, schedules and button pushing strategies which cater to the "toss it over the wall" mentality of sharing work between engineering and quality teams. What we do believe in is a collaborative approach to defining the necessary steps to build quality into the engineering and release process.
In this role, you'll play a crucial part in everything we do to improve quality, speed to delivery and ship high quality products in a consistent manner. You'll be working directly with engineers and product managers within an Agile development process to assess risk and help define the required process to build quality in for everything that we ship.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate and mentor engineers to ship high quality software.
  • Perform exploratory and automated testing activities as required within sprint release cycle.
  • Assess risk with engineering deliverables and define testing strategy to mitigate.
  • Own the quality stack and toolset.
  • Define and implement release best practices.
  • Hold the entire team accountable for what touches both our internal users along with our customers
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in software development.
  • You understand what Agile, Lean and Continuous delivery are all about.
  • You are a critical thinker and frequently spot risks and problems no one else in the team thought about.
  • You are a great facilitator that can organize people to solve problems.
  • You have experience in implementing an automated testing strategy.
  • Having a degree in Computer Science is a plus.
