Thrillist is seeking a Senior Digital Analyst to lead a growing team. The successful individual will be able to compile and analyze data (across sources) and deliver relevant interpretations, reports, dashboards, recommendations and strategies to the editorial content creation teams and other key business stakeholders. He/she will use metrics to “tell a story” that successfully depicts, predicts and reconciles business scenarios, trends, opportunities, and problems. This is a highly visible position at the company, and your insights will play a critical role in dictating Thrillist’s overall media strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Create KPI dashboards and automated reporting for senior management, editorial, video and distribution to track company and team performances, as well as inform future content creation
  • Run analysis and reporting on effectiveness of editorial initiatives, new site feature launches, and distribution campaigns
  • Track and analyze user behavior across Thrillist properties including the website, email, Facebook and more
  • Make recommendations to senior management on how to improve performance and maximize KPIs
  • Identify and recommend appropriate tools & services to help improve key business KPI
  • Make recommendation to stakeholders on funnel optimizations
  • Create templates and automation tools for recurring reports and analysis to increase the efficiency of the department
  • Experience parsing and defining actionable insights from large data sets in the media industry
  • Strong ability to describe and present data to non-technical audiences, including trends, projections, and insights
  • Extracting data-driven insights on a variety of analytics projects across the media, product, and business functions of the company
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of how all teams within Thrillist operate, what drives their KPIs and goals, in order to provide on-going recommendations, tactical plans, and presentations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of quantitative analytics experience in a media environment
  • Proficient with Google Analytics and/or other web analytics tools
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills including a strong understanding of media/content metrics, data sources, etc
  • Proficient with Excel or Google Sheets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with individuals at both peer and management levels
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment that requires multitasking, prioritizing and implementing high priority initiatives
  • Strategic acumen coupled with attention to detail and the ability to audit own work
  • Experience with BI tools like GoodData (a plus)
