We are looking for our first Strategic Finance Associate to take ownership of our financial operations, planning, and analysis. You will be working directly with our COO to innovative in our fast-growing environment where your analyses and insights help our executive team make key decisions.
Kinnek has just hit a very critical inflection point in the growth of the company. Our platform is gaining incredible traction across many industries - more than 20,000 businesses on Kinnek purchase millions of dollars worth of equipment and supplies every week. And we’ve been able to accomplish this with an incredibly small, nimble team. After a recent $20M Series-B led by some of the best investors in NYC and Silicon Valley, we’re ready to build out a robust Strategy & Finance team, starting with you.
Responsibilities:
- Large focus on building company-wide budgets and forecasts.
- Assist the COO on solving strategic problems by performing deep analysis with live data.
- Collaborate with founders in performing monthly and quarterly financial reviews for management by coordinating with accounting, HR and other functional & product teams.
- Help calculate and articulate risks and opportunities to the financial model.
- Assist with the continued build-out and improvement of the financial planning processes and systems that are in place, with a strong eye toward reliability, continuity and growth.
- Lead projects such as analyzing product P&L’s and assessing the financial and strategic implications of potential product enhancements, new products, or new businesses.
- Work with outside bookkeeper to perform month end close processes, with ability to identify, communicate and action key issues.
- Facilitate global process improvements to ensure a robust control environment.
Qualifications:
- 4 year degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years in an Analyst, Consultant, or financial planning role
- Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting
- Excel Champ
- Understanding of GAAP
- Demonstrated ability to use data and provide thoughtful analysis.
- Has a mix of big company and startup experience
