As a video editor intern, you will be responsible for providing support for the social video editors. This is a very fast-paced environment and the ability to source and gather video assets are just as important as video editing skills. The video editor intern will report to Mic’s Lead Editor.

This is a paid full-time summer internship based in New York City. We expect interns to work 40 hours a week for the duration of the program (June 5, 2017 - August 11, 2017). Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Download and convert video footage
  • Help organize files
  • Provide editors support in breaking news situations

Qualifications:

  • Familiar with video editing workflow
  • Familiar with Adobe Premiere
  • Familiar with Adobe After Effects
  • Ability to choose music that fits the tone of the video
  • Currently enrolled in an undergrad or graduate program
  • BONUS: Animation skills and/or previous experience working in a newsroom
