Video Producer, Lifestyle (NY)

BuzzFeed Entertainment Group in New York is looking for a creative and resourceful producer who can create compelling original videos for our Facebook and YouTube pages. Must be a native of the digital and lifestyle landscape with intimate knowledge of the latest and greatest in social media, lifestyle content, and emerging technology/platforms. The ideal candidate has a background in independent video production and an obsession with creating shareable videos.

This is a full-time position based in NYC.

Responsibilities:

• Lead new initiatives and own projects with limited supervision
• Conceptualize and lead sprints and regularly lead brainstorms with a proven ability to motivate small teams
• Create, shoot, edit, and produce videos for BuzzFeed Facebook, YouTube and/or Instagram pages
• Produce videos quickly, and keep up with a fast-paced production schedule
• Make creative, fun, and social-driven videos that people will like and share across our platforms
• Generate ideas for, and experiment with/test new formats and content types

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience with video production and familiarity with DSLR cameras, lighting, and editing
• 2-4 years proven experience creating compelling content for the web
• Ability to lead people or initiatives, with the potential for leadership and management responsibilities over time
• A moderate understanding of data and growth and an ability to critically use data to drive decisions
• Strong passion for lifestyle media, understanding of lifestyle landscape across categories (including home, food, beauty, DIY, parenting, travel, etc.)
• Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Photoshop)
• A positive, curious, playful disposition
• Strong communicator, team player and mentor
