Video Resident, Parenting and Lifestyle

BuzzFeed Entertainment Group in New York is looking for an experienced and multi-functional video producer who can create compelling short-form video content about parenting in the modern age. The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge about the issues that parents care about, and is also up on the latest lifestyle trends in the parenting community. You should be able to see parenting through a humorous, relatable, inclusive, and unique lens.

This position is a 3-month, full-time residency based in our NYC office. For the right person, this position could become full-time at the end of the 3 month period.

Responsibilities:

• Create, shoot, edit and produce videos from start to finish that could be published on a multitude of digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube
• Research, conceptualize and create original videos around parenting, raising children
• Pioneer shareable new video formats and project types
• Collaborate with the editorial team

Requirements:

• Strong experience with video production, including DSLR cameras, lighting equipment, and editing. Can create videos quickly and independently.
• Professional experience in creating videos about products and trends for parents
• A competitive drive -- you enjoy winning and really going for it
• Proven ability to create compelling, shareable web video
• Ability to work alone as well as in small teams
• Strong understanding of video metrics and how that information can influence future concepts.
• A positive, curious, and playful attitude (no haters!!)
• Research background is a strong plus

Additional qualities:

• 1-3 years of experience in creating captivating videos to the internet (portfolio is a plus!)
