As a YouTube Intern for The Dodo, you’ll join the largest dedicated animal brand on digital media, and be immersed in a fast-paced environment that encourages innovation and passion-driven storytelling. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the YouTube platform lead to optimize video content for our channel. This is a paid, 3 to 6 months (with possible extension) part-time internship located in New York.

As our ideal candidate, you have experience editing on Adobe Premiere (After Effects a plus) and creating engaging video content using both found and original footage. You have a strong sense of the YouTube landscape and know how to tailor videos to the platform. You are excited to re-cut and reimagine existing videos, pull data and implement data-driven best practices, and brainstorm creative new ideas for original content. The prospect of creating animal content all day, every day excites you!

You’ll be joining a nimble, creative team of self-starters who enjoy collaborating and receiving feedback, so clear communication is essential. We’ll look to you to manage your time, work quickly and efficiently, and have an accurate pulse on how long your projects will take to complete. Responsibilities:

• Daily editing of videos
• Research and media sourcing
• Channel maintenance and rights clearance support
• Channel/Community management
• Assisting with live and on location shoots

Requirements:

• A strong understanding of the YouTube platform and how it works
• Bachelor’s Degree in Media, Marketing, or Film strongly preferred
• Experience editing video content using Premiere
• Interest in creating impactful/sharable animal content
• Experience After Effects
• Experience in filming/shooting engaging video content
• Passion and love for animals
