Building Your Career Through New Media 

When: May 10th at 6 p.m.

Who it’s for: People who want to learn how to use new social media tools to brand themselves online.

What’s happening: A workshop featuring Paul Rothbein, whose digital video and photo content has accumulated about 50 million views.

 

TAMID Tank 2016

When: May 11th at 6 p.m.

Who it’s for: The public — but, be forewarned that the event is being held deep in Queens. 

What’s happening: TAMID Tank is going to be showcasing three student-led startups in a pitch competition. Kevin Harrington from the original Shark Tank will be on the panel of investors. 

 

Speak Up! Using Improv to Improve Public Speaking

When: May 11th at 6:30 p.m.

Who it’s for: People who want to be able to better express themselves in front of an audience — so just about all of us. 

What’s happening: This is a three week course, and students will perform a number of activities that not only build confidence, but also address the fear of public speaking. 

 

HTML & CSS Workshop for Beginners

When: May 14th at 10 a.m.

Who it’s for: Absolute beginners who want a strong foundation in HTML and/or CSS. This event is intended for people who identify as women. 

What’s happening: This will be a full-day workshop, and you should bring your computer. 

 

Medical Technology Challenges @Byte Academy 

When: May 16th at 7:15 p.m.

Who it’s for: The event is aimed at programming students and entry-level programmers.

What’s happening: This is a hands-on workshop that looks at techniques used in medical technology.
