5 tech events to check out in NYC this week

Every week, we dig through our events calendar and hand-select five events worth checking out. We’re particularly looking forward to these ones.

 

MedTech Mondays: Learning & Networking, May 8 at 6:30 p.m.

This event is part of a continual "MedTech Monday" series held throughout  the summer. Event topics vary by week and include items such as careers in MedTech, intro programming for medicine, medtech startups and guest speakers. Sessions will be led by Rebecca Sealfon, one of NYC's top female engineers who also teaches Byte Academy.

NYC TechBreakfast: Incidr, Merlin, PopIn, Microsoft, TEALS, May 9 at 8 a.m.

Interact with your tech peers in a free monthly morning breakfast meetup. At this monthly breakfast get-together techies, developers, designers, and entrepreneurs share learn from their peers through show and tell show-case style presentations.

Lean Startup Conference NY, May 10 at 8 a.m.

Lean Startup Conference New York brings together entrepreneurs and corporate innovators who seek to learn continuous innovation and sustainable growth using the Lean Startup methodology. They understand the challenges of incorporating Lean Startup at scale and across large corporations and are willing to help other entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs Breakfast, May 11 at 8 a.m.

On Thursdays from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., a meetup group conducts networking and business development meetings for salespeople, consultants, entrepreneurs and business owners in the NY Tri-state area. It’s bring your own coffee, but this networking group promises to act as your own private business advisory council. Members and attendees walk out each week with business advice, decades worth of experience, leads and introductions.

Cognitive Builder Faire New York, May 13 at 9 a.m.

Start your cognitive business journey by learning more about cognitive solutions like Watson and the IBM Cloud platform that supports cognitive workloads at this two-day event. At this fair, attendees will learn how data, in all its forms, is expanding as a resource to be utilized. They will also learn about how cognitive computing is able to unlock the potential in all data and make it work together.
