Mic is looking for an accounting intern to join our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate must be comfortable in a dynamic start-up environment, will bring energy and passion to everything they do, and will not be afraid to roll up their sleeves to tackle challenging assignments. The intern will report to Mic’s Director of Accounting.

This is a paid full-time summer internship based in New York City. We expect interns to work 40 hours a week for the duration of the program (June 5, 2017 - August 11, 2017). Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
• Process Accounts Payable transactions & expense management
• Support month and quarter end close process
• Maintain all supporting schedules (Fixed Assets, Prepaids, Accruals, etc.)
• Support our billing department; ensuring invoices are entered & issued appropriately
• Work with the team to fine-tune processes & implement new initiatives
• Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting

Qualifications:

• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Basic understanding of accounting and finance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Perform work accurately and in a time efficient manner, with strong attention to detail, organization and follow through
• Ability to work under close supervision and accept constructive feedback, adjusting as directed
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Excel
