Associate Producer/Editor, Food & Drink
Thrillist means fun. We're eaters, drinkers, travelers, and doers. We serve the curious and believe that new experiences are what drive the richest lives. We bring our passion, expertise, and taste to bear on the things that are truly worth your time and money. Life is for living, and that’s why we’re here. Today will be great.
Thrillist is seeking a wildly creative Associate Producer/Editor for our growing Food & Drink team based in New York City. In this role, you’ll help ideate, produce, and edit compelling short-to-mid-form social videos for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. The ideal candidate is immersed in food trends, has go-to ramen spots in every neighborhood in the city, and comes in with a working knowledge of how to create top-notch, social-first videos.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside video team, staff writers, and editors to create entertaining, shareable, and exciting short-to-mid-form social videos
- Have your finger on the pulse of food, beverage, cooking, and restaurant trends around the country
- Work in tandem with a production team tasked with the same goals
- Creatively source and secure footage from third-party sources (including creative commons and public domain content)
- Master the Thrillist voice and tone, and infuse all videos with the feeling of fun that we stand for
- Immerse yourself in the data around the videos you and others -- both on the team and at other publishers -- are making, and use that as a guide to smart decision-making for future videos
- Participate in meetings and create a feedback loop with your Producer, Senior Producer, and Audience team
- Chase down and cultivate sources for upcoming stories
- Do thorough and flawless reporting on stories in production
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant editing and producing experience at either a network or digital media company
- MUST have a burning passion for food and restaurants (that hopefully do not have a passion for burning your food)
- Be an expert at non-linear editing with expertise in Adobe Premiere
- Possess exceptional communication, creative, and organizational skills
- Work well in a team, as well as on your own
- Be able to juggle multiple projects at once
- Deep understanding of the Thrillist brand and lifestyle
- Be open to constructive criticism from peers and strive to make best-in-class content
- Familiar with operating DSLR cameras
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs
