ABOUT THE TEAM

Basis' Product team guides the innovation and development of our comprehensive tech platform, Basis. This team blends focus, collaboration, and creativity to fulfill our mission in creating a transformative tool that makes work more streamlined and fulfilling for those who power the ad tech industry.

Customer experience is at the forefront of this team’s work—and also includes market research, cross-departmental stakeholder collaboration, user testing, communicating feature requests to engineers and designers, monitoring impact of new feature rollouts, measuring returns on product investments, and more. Together, they leverage their diverse industry experience and talent to brainstorm new ideas, iterate on old ones, and create the best possible product for our customers.

The Business Intelligence Team lives within the Product department and is responsible for unlocking the vast amount and huge potential of Basis data to evolve the company's key metrics that generate actionable insight to empower data-driven decisions. This team focuses on solving complex business problems and communicates solutions through data insight storytelling.

WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

• Creating and providing expertise on using analytic solutions for a variety of use cases such as: self-service analytics, extracts, reports, dashboards and alerts. 
• Partnering with technical product managers and business analysts to analyze requirements and user stories to design analytic products (data models, dashboards, reports, extract, widgets, etc.)
• Understanding how requirements incorporate the customer’s needs and ensure solutions developed are traceable to business objectives.
• Understanding and execution of the SDLC process including version control and continuous testing. 
• Assessing current analytics environment and understand how solutions impact existing architecture or how architecture should be developed to support analytic solutions.
• Understanding QA Process and be able to participate in multiple levels of testing (unit, regression, system, etc.)
• Managing the document library of solutions in coordination with team members.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• 3-5 years of experience writing high-performance SQL to solve complex business problems.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in BI and analytics solution design and development.
• 2+ years of experience with data visualization and reporting.
• Advanced knowledge of data management, business intelligence and analytic solution delivery including OLAP concepts, semantic layer, and reporting solutions.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL process, data quality, data governance, and metadata management.
• Data modeling knowledge with data marts and data warehouses. Knowledge of ETL design and data flows is preferred.
• Experience with data visualization, dashboard design, reporting, self-service BI, data KPIs, predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive analytics solutions.
• Experience with the full lifecycle of a software and analytics project from start to finish. This includes environment coordination, deployment to production, and relevant communications.
• Strong SQL and data extraction skills. – ability to extract and manipulate data from common database systems (Snowflake, Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)

BONUS POINTS

• Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Some direct experience with ETL/ELT tools is preferred.
• Big Data systems (Hive, Impala, etc.)
• Preference given to individuals with enterprise platform/SaaS experience or digital advertising industry knowledge.
